Me as a contemporary teacher
To what
extent is it reasonable to conclude that if you are not experiencing positive
or negative emotions about the materials and activities in any learning
experience, that you are potentially disinterested or not motivated? Discuss in
relation to your first emotional response to the nature of this unit.
It is very reasonable to conclude
disinterest or lack of motivation if you are not experiencing a positive
emotion about learning experiences. My
first emotional response was a feeling of being overwhelmed. There was no
direct instruction for assessments nor templates to follow. this initially
stressed me out, because I am older and not particularly savvy with ICT. So to
have to create new things without experience made me feel anxious.
Elaborate on your emotions on engaging
further with this unit? Positive, negative. Indifferent?
After sitting with the idea for a day or so
I formulated a plan to engage with the unit. when I decided that I need to
learn at the same time as engaging my anxiety diminished, I have an initial
moment of "HOW" then set a plan for completing the material.
To what extent do you have the
commitment to actively interrogate your emotions, and your beliefs about
creative pedagogy (that extends beyond the mere delivery of information to your
learners)? How might you be challenged to engage as you enter this unit?
My challenge is creativity itself. I have a
very logical way of thinking. Artistic and creative processes are a difficult
thing for me to grasp and understand. This module will open new learning
pathways for me, which I am excited and nervous about.
Identify your present values and beliefs
about ICT in the classroom. Keep it brief and focused.
I believe ICT is the way of the future in
classrooms. I don't believe it has been integrated well at this stage, but
hopefully as time goes on it gets better. My values around ICT are that it
should be a secondary device to socializing; first skill should be person to
person. I also value being able to know basic functions such as spelling,
handwriting, math and world knowledge is important to know, rather than
searching this up when needed.

do like to be interactive with my approach

waste a lot of time
What experience do you have with ICT in
the classroom?
I have mainly used power point to display
information. it would be great to learn how to use and interact with new ICT
programs that engage the learners.
